The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the revocation of 1,095 landed properties in Abuja belonging to prominent Nigerians, government establishments, and private organizations for failing to pay ground rent and land use conversion fees.

The affected properties, located in prime districts such as Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse, were revoked due to non-payment of statutory land charges, including ground rent, Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills, penalty/violation fees, and land use conversion fees.

According to the FCT Administration, the property owners had ignored multiple public notices issued between May and November 2025, warning them to settle their financial obligations or risk losing their titles. The administration emphasized that compliance with land-related charges remains a legal obligation for all property owners in the FCT.

Some of the notable individuals and organizations affected include former First Lady Patience Jonathan, former Defence Minister Theophilus Danjuma, and government establishments such as the Office of the National Security Adviser, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
